Beyonce Knowles Criticized For 'Wasting' Champagne In New Video

Cosmopolitan.com:
Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj released a music video for their new song "Feeling Myself" earlier this week — you're forgiven if you haven't seen it yet, because it's exclusively on TIDAL (womp, womp). There's a fun little hot tub party scene towards the end of the video, and in a photo outtake released Tuesday, Bey's pouring a bottle of champagne into the tub — maybe it's as good to bathe in bubbly as it is (allegedly) to bathe in red wine, or something? Or perhaps, given her expression, someone peed in the tub and she's looking to sterilize it, fast.

Specifically, the drink in question is Armand de Brignac Champagne, a bubbly brand popular with the A-list. Otherwise known as the "Ace of Spades," Armand de Brignac bottles retail from $300 to the five, even six figures — it's not clear how much the specific bottle(s) featured in the video cost, but an angry Twitter mob and its pitchforks have settled on a $10,000 to $20,000 range. Yikes:

As it happens though, Bey's husband Jay Z owns the company behind Armand de Brignac, so the bottles here are almost certainly freebies sent to the boss (not to mention a solid inter-video advertising plug). So it's not necessarily a representation of glib monetary excess — at least any more than your average music video these days — but it is still a waste of good champagne and that is a real shame. I mean, I needed to buy some Prosecco for a friend's graduation party the other day and I could only afford a screw-top bottle...
