Beyonce Knowles is No Longer the Most Followed Person on Instagram

Queen B is Queen of Instagram no more. Beyonce has officially been dethroned by the one and only Kim Kardashian.

With a total of 44.1 million followers, Kardashian surpassed Beyonce's 44 million as of Monday (Aug. 24), reports Tech Insider. The site shared Kardashian and Beyonce's exact numbers of followers, and the difference isn't even 70,000 (Kardashian is at 44,005,604 with Beyonce at 43,935,648).

Although the two have been neck and neck for a long time, Kardashian seems to be gaining followers at a faster rate -- perhaps thanks to her chest selfie to celebrate 42 million followers just a couple of weeks ago. Kardashian has also posted about three times as many pictures as Beyonce, sitting at a whopping 3,022 posts when she took over Instagram's top spot.

But it's not just Kardashian that Beyonce should look out for while she tries to regain her InstaQueen status. Creeping up on both Beyonce and Kardashian is Taylor Swift, who isn't far behind with 43.7 followers.

As if Cookie weren’t enough, Empire’s adding another independent woman.

Former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland is guest-starring in Season 2, and as this exclusive photo from the premiere reveals, she’ll be playing Luscious Lyon’s mother, Leah, in a flashback. “Through watching Leah, we learn more about Lucious’s past,” Rowland hints about her role. Of course, appearing on the biggest music show in years was a no-brainer, the singer says. “I am an absolute fan of the show. It was the most exciting thing to work with all of these masterminds.”

Empire will aim for more high notes in Season 2 with a slew of big-name guest stars including Chris Rock as someone from Lucious’ past that he reconnects with in jail. Marisa Tomei joins as a lesbian billionaire, Adam Rodriguez will flirt up a romance with Cookie, and Ludacris will play a cop. Alicia Keys and Lenny Kravitz also guest in unknown roles, and Mariah Carey is expected to stop by too.

The show returns September 23 on Fox.

Beyoncé has not answered a direct question in more than a year, and Vogue's September issue was no exception. 

For the year's biggest issue of the fashion magazine, Beyoncé appears in an editorial spread photographed by Mario Testino and in accompanying videos on Vogue.com, but she does not utter a single word for the cover story written by Margo Jefferson.

“It was definitely posed to me as … call it a think piece, if you want. I had no contact with her camp," Jefferson told the New York Times. Words are wind for Mrs. Carter: “She has to be studying how effective her interviews have been so far. She may have decided that they do not contribute as dazzlingly to the portrait of Beyoncé as the other stuff. It’s a perfectly reasonable decision.”

In a May piece about Beyoncé and Jay Z's vegan diets, the New York Times only received correspondence from her via email: "Beyoncé, a representative explained, has not answered any direct questions for more than a year." 

This may come as no surprise, seeing as how every aspect of the public life of the very private star is seemingly meticulously curated, from her 2013 HBO documentary to her vacation photos.

Kelly Rowland Shares A Snippet Of New Music On Instagram

Kelly Rowland has been plugging away at her fifth album since the beginning of the year, but took a well-earned break to focus on motherhood and her upcoming TV show Chasing Destiny. Well, it looks like the 34-year-old has returned her focus to music. She shared a snippet of a new track on Instagram over the weekend and it sounds like the kind of mellow R&B jam that radio would lap up while the sun is still shining. 

Interestingly, the “Kisses Down Low” hitmaker has recorded the album without the assistance of a record label. “I just needed something new and I’ve earned the right to make my own choices and make my own decisions,” she said in March. However, there’s no shortage of interest. “There are different offers on the table,” the Destiny’s Child star revealed. “I’m just in the studio on my own and just having a really good time just being creatively free.”

Fans are calling for the cancellation of Amy Poehler's new Hulu series Difficult People after an offensive joke was made about Beyoncé's three-year-old daughter.

"I can't wait for Blue Ivy to be 18-year-old so R Kelly can piss on her," is the joke currently under fire. Julie Klausner, who plays Julie Kessler in the series, made the joke and received subtle criticism from her co-star and an anonymous online troll who suggested that she should kill herself.

Blue Ivy is the three-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z.

In 2002, R Kelly was accused of having sex and urinating on an underage girl, however, he was found not guilty in 2008.

Klausner recently told Entertainment Weekly that Poehler was heavily involved with each and every script used on the series.

"Amy could not have been more hands-on. She did not only give notes on every script, she gave notes on every draft of every outline. She weighed in on casting videos, cast roles. She weighed in on production matters. She came up with the title. She would give notes on every single edit, not only of the shows but of the promos, the trailers. She would be involved in every stage of the process in a way that she would go above and beyond."

Werq! The cover for Vogue's biggest issue of the year, the September issue, was revealed on Thursday, Aug. 13, and it features none other than international superstar Beyonce.

The image, shot by legendary fashion photographer and Vogue's in-house shutterbug, Mario Testino, shows Beyonce in a body-hugging lavender lace dress embellished with floral appliqués.

The singer swings a sparkly purple blazer over one shoulder and rests her hand on another chair as she stares down the lens with her usual ferocity. She also sports a tousled wet hairstyle — perhaps as an ode to her "Drunk in Love" music video.

"Just B," Vogue's cover line reads. "Beyonce and the Art of Global Domination." It's unclear exactly what Beyonce is currently promoting as there are no known big immediate projects in the works. (However, the singer's last studio album dropped unexpectedly in late 2013.)

She wore her hair tied back in a braided style and shaded her eyes from the blazing Californian sun in a pair of dark sunglasses.

Bey teamed up with Flash Tattoos to design her collection, described as “fierce, flawless and fabulous.” Obviously. Ms. Knowles “creatively directed and co-designed” the set, which features a mix of lyrics, gun, and beehive-inspired imagery. The 57-piece pack costs $28—but can you really put a price on wearing a metallic “flawless” designed by Queen Bey herself?

When applied properly, with a damp cloth, the tattoos will last four to six days, Mashable reports. So if you wear just one at a time, you’ll be looking flawless for months.

This ankle strap sandal (better known as the Princess Constellation or as the brand calls them, ‘possibly the eighth wonder of the world’) is completely diamond-encrusted — with 1,310 sparkles to be exact and features blue butterfly accents across the toe and ankle strap. Borgezie calls the pair one of its “finest creations,” having a massive diamond weight of 65.50 karats and is available in platinum or 18-karat gold.

According to a Page Six interview with House of Borgezie owner Chris Shellis, having Beyoncé in of one his designs is “the ultimate … If you want someone to model your creations, you can’t get any better than Beyoncé.”

Shellis also said he was contacted by the singer months ago about the expensive shoe, and that she’d be wearing them in an upcoming music video. In addition to sparkly shoes, she also will reportedly be wearing an $85,000 gold belt by the brand in the video as well.

Poor Michelle asserted she is the dry lettuce among juicy fruit, but what other food metaphors exist? The possibilities are endless. Hear us out, y’all. Oatmeal raisin cookies are delicious treats in their own rights. However, when matched up against a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie, how many of you would opt for oatmeal raisin? Not many. In fact, we’re 86 percent certain that if we polled the world and asked them to choose between the three aforementioned cookies, oatmeal would come dead last. Beyonce Knowles' Husband Jay-Z's Company Roc Nation Sports Sued for $10 Million

A Bronx-based boxing promoter is suing Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports for trying to lure a world champion middleweight away from his contract, only to cancel a $750,000 bout and dump the fighter.

Star Boxing says in its $10 million Manhattan Supreme Court suit that Roc Nation was in talks to sign Demetrius Andrade as its first fighter last September.

Roc Nation promised to pay Star $2 million to buy out Andrade’s exclusive contract — and also pledged to pay the former Olympian $550,000 to cancel a fight against Jermell Charlo in December 2014 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, court papers say.

The bout would have aired on Showtime.

Roc Nation told Andrade he could make more than the $550,000 he had been offered by Star Boxing with another fight they had set up for HBO, the suit says.
