Michelle Williams Confronts Mike Huckabee on "The View"

Mediaite.com:
Mike Huckabee visited The View on Thursday morning where Michelle Williams, of Destiny’s Child fame, just happened to be sitting in as a guest co-host. So naturally she had a few things to say to the former Arkansas governor when the subject of Beyoncé inevitably came up.
“She’s amazing!” Williams said right off the bat of her former groupmate and childhood friend.
“She is amazing and interestingly, I’ve had so much uproar over half a page in my book,” Huckabee said of the passage from God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy in which he essentially calls the singer a prostitute. In subsequent interviews he castigated President Barack Obama for allowing his children to listen to her supposedly scandalous music.
“I say she’s the most amazing singer, great set of pipes, unbelievable dancer and she doesn’t need to do songs like ‘Partition’ and ‘Drunk in Love’ in order to be an effective and an amazing talent,” he continued. “Because she’s such a role model for so many young women and this is what I said and it was a simple half a page in a 270-page book, and I’m thinking, my gosh, that’s all I’ve heard about this week.”
Huckabee neglected to mention the part where he wrote of Beyoncé’s husband, “Jay-Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”
“You can’t mess with the Queen Bee,” Rosie O’Donnell told Huckabee.
“You definitely can’t mess with her,” Williams chimed in. “But as someone who has definitely come up in a group with her, has seen her hard work and who she is, I just feel like, you know, that album and those songs is that one moment where she decided to probably do some songs she’s always wanted to do to shed that ‘I’m a good girl.’ She had some freedom and she owned it and she took it, so I was definitely offended. I’m not the Carter spokesperson, but to hear some of those comments that you said I thought were very, very, very low.”
“I respect you and this is not to throw mud and tomatoes and all that stuff,” she added.

Teenage Destiny's Child Sing Backup in Little-Seen ’90s Rap Video

NYDailyNews.com:
All hail Teen Bey!
A new video showing a very young Beyoncé singing backup in a 1990s rap video surfaced on Cosmopolitan.com, giving Beyciples a glimpse at the budding superstar's early look.
In it, the baby-faced Beyoncé rocks a honey-tinged "Rachel" haircut — inspired by the famous "Friends" character — while singing and dancing with an early lineup of "Destiny's Child," including Kelly Rowland.
The video is for Houston-based rapper Lil' O's song "Can't Stop" and is from 1997, right around the time the all-girl group was breaking through with their first hit "No, No, No."

Solange Knowles Blasts Paparazzi For Interrupting Family Park Day With Beyonce & Blue Ivy – “This Is Why I Live In NOLA”

Bossip.com:
Newlywed songstress Solange Knowles has always been the more low-key one of her family, even if only by default, and she recently took to Twitter to laugh off a little frustration after the paparazzi caught her on camera looking way less-than excited to see them.
Solo hit up Griffith Park in L.A. over the weekend with sister Beyonce, mother Tina and niece Blue Ivy and when a fan pointed out how annoyed she looked in the photos, she admitted that she wasn’t too fond of the paps crashing their family day.

Michelle Williams Shuts Down Those Beyonce Knowles Pregnancy Rumors

HuffPo.com:
Michelle Williams is ready to set the record straight after the Internet was abuzz with rumors that Beyonce is pregnant. While guest co-hosting on "The View" on Monday, the Destiny's Child alum said there was no cryptic message behind this Instagram photo of Beyonce that the "Flawless" singer posted on Sunday:

"First of all, if you look at the picture, the baby bump is like where her knees probably really are so that's really, you know?” Williams said.

"You know, when she was pregnant people said that she wasn't pregnant and you know, it's just no truth to it. Sorry!" the 34-year-old added, referring to the false rumors that Beyonce used a surrogate during her pregnancy with Blue Ivy.

Looks like Blue Ivy won't be a big sister anytime soon, but it sure seems like the toddler enjoys Williams' company. Williams told Us Weekly in December that Blue Ivy “just looked at [her] one day and just said, ‘You are so pretty!’ And children tell the truth!” she smiled.

Beyonce Knowles Snapshot Sparks Pregnancy Rumors

FOXNews.com:
Beyonce may have just casually dropped another clue that she's pregnant again.
Golden Globes: Check out all the fashion hits and misses
On Sunday, Queen Bey posted a seemingly innocuous Instagram photo of herself buried in the sand with daughter Blue Ivy, 3, playing beside her. But look closely: She's sporting a giant sand belly.
The sly photo comes four months after hubby Jay Z changed the lyric "I replace it with another one" to "pregnant with another one" in his song "Beach Is Better" on the couple's "On the Run" tour.
Beyonce has not officially commented yet, but she likely will just let her (real) belly do the talking. She confirmed her pregnancy with Blue by debuting her baby bump at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Too bad she didn't go to the Golden Globes.

Mike Huckabee Says Jay Z Is A 'Pimp' For 'Exploiting' Beyonce Knowles

HuffPo.com:
For some inexplicable reason, former Fox News pundit and GOP governor, and possible 2016 presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee decided to weigh in on Jay Z and Beyonce in his new book. The result? An offensive statement calling the rapper a "pimp" who exploits his wife.

Passages in Huckabee's forthcoming book about today's "fractious" American society, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, due out Jan. 20, touch on "popular culture provocations from Jay Z and Beyonce," according to the book's description on Amazon.

U.S. World News & World Report published a handful of quotes Thursday ahead of the book's release, one of which focused on Jay Z and Beyonce's 2014 Grammys performance of "Drunk in Love," which Huckabee compares to "foreplay":

My reaction: Why? Beyonce is incredibly talented –- gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer –- without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom. Jay Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?

Beyonce Knowles Criticized Over Tiger Cub Photo

HuffPo.com:
Beyonce and her family came under fire after a photo surfaced showing them participating in a tiger attraction at a theme park in Thailand.

Last week, a photo circulated on Beyonce fan pages of the singer, Jay Z and their daughter Blue Ivy beside a baby tiger being bottle-fed at the Phuket FantaSea park. Blue watches as the Tiger drinks from the bottle while Beyonce pets its head.

Dr. Jan Schmidt-Burbach with World Animal Protection, a group committed to protecting animals around the world, spoke out against the Carters' trip because of the suffering these big cats go through as part of such entertainment, including the forced removal from their mothers.

"A tiger is not a plaything," she said in a statement on the WAP website. "Their health and well-being should not be sacrificed for a photo opportunity. When you look behind the scenes, vacation snaps like these support an industry that relies on animal cruelty. Many tourists unwittingly contribute to the suffering of wild animals like these. They’re simply not aware that their ‘once in a lifetime’ photo means a lifetime of misery for that animal.”

Vulture notes that One Green Planet also had some criticism for Beyonce after she was photographed riding a baby elephant.

"The wee-baby elephant that Beyonce has so happily perched herself upon, was likely taken from his mother and forced to endure a six-month 'breaking' period during which time he was locked in a small enclosure and continuously beaten by his mahouts (trainers)," wrote Kate Good, for One Green Planet. "It is not unlikely that this poor elephant will spend everyday after this one carrying other tourists, exposed to the extreme heat and weather of Phuket, knowing little but a life of pain and misery."

Beyonce and her family were in Thailand for the holidays, according to E! News.

Kelly Rowland Recalls Her Late Mother Being a 'Guardian Angel'

ChristianPost.com:
Kelly Rowland is focused on her mother being a guardian angel instead of merely passing away into death.

Michelle Williams Says People Shouldn't Compare Their Success to Others

ChristianPost.com:
Michelle Williams has revealed why she doesn't believe in comparing her successes with others.

Williams, the 34-year-old singer, has both Grammy and NAACP Image Award nominations for her latest solo effort, "Journey To Freedom." It has been a productive year for Williams, who remains busy with her Oxygen network television show "Fix My Choir."

However, the entertainer is not trying to spend time comparing herself to others and explained why when speaking to The Break magazine.
"You'll wear yourself out! Everybody is guilty of comparing themselves or their timing with other people," Williams told the publication. "Like, 'I should have this in x amount of time' because someone else has it. Everybody's journey and timing is totally different."

She went on to explain her perspective on people who seem to reach their goals faster than others.
"A lot of people out here seem like they're running faster than you, but guess what? They're gonna burn out faster than you," she told The Break. "That [mentality] comes with maturity and wisdom. [It] also comes from seeing people who weren't necessarily good stewards of the gifts that God gave them."
